Browser Convert started from a simple idea: file conversion should be useful without asking you to trust a remote server with your documents, photos, or media. Everything you convert here stays on your device — the work happens in your browser, and the result downloads straight back to you.
We build focused, reliable tools for everyday formats — JPG, PNG, HEIC, PDF, MP4, MP3, and more — so you can get the file you need without signing up or leaving a trail of uploads. Today that means 173+ converters across images, documents, presentations, video, audio, archives, fonts, and ebooks.
The goal is straightforward: private by default, free to use, and clear about what happens to your files. If a conversion can run in the browser, we prefer that path over sending anything to a server.
How to verify nothing is uploaded
Don't take our word for it — you can check yourself in a few minutes. Your browser shows every network request; a typical "upload to a server" converter would send your file in one of them.

Open DevTools → Network
In Chrome or Edge, press F12 (or Ctrl+Shift+I / ⌘⌥I on Mac) and open the Network tab. Keep it open while you convert.

Convert a real file
Pick any converter, drop in a file you recognize, and run the conversion. Watch the Network list as it finishes and downloads.

Look for your file — you shouldn’t see it leave
There should be no upload of your document, photo, or media to an API. You won’t see a large POST or multipart request carrying the file you selected.

Optional: try Offline
After the page (and any on-device engines) have loaded once, flip DevTools to Offline and convert again. If conversion still works with no network, the file never needed a server.
You may still see small, unrelated traffic: page scripts, fonts, or analytics pings (we record that a conversion page was used — not the contents of your file). Some tools also load a local engine once (for example FFmpeg or font WASM from this site). Those are helper binaries for your browser, not an upload of your document.
What matters: the file you dropped into the converter does not appear as a request body leaving your machine. More detail on analytics is in our Privacy Policy.

- Results depend on your browser and device. A recent Chrome, Edge, Firefox, or Safari build works best.

- Conversion quality can vary by format pair. When fidelity matters, keep a copy of the original.
